Company Profile

From family business in a garage in Brabant

Cor de Wit started in 1978 as importer and distributor of the thermoplastic reinforcement materials of Rhenoflex in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. The name of the company that he founded for this is an abbreviation of the christening names of his son.

In 1980 son Fred takes over the company named after him and undertakes for years – together with his wife – from the garage next to their house. After the range is expanded with distribution of the HB Fuller adhesives in the Netherlands and Belgium, he and his wife no longer know where to store all incoming products.

When the garage became too small, the company moved in 1995 to a business premises on the Ambachtsweg in Udenhout. The range was further expanded and new machines were purchased. In addition to raw materials, more and more semi-finished products could be supplied.

To innovators for orthopedics and shoe industry

If the current director Rob de Wit succeeds his father in 2008, the company is ready for the next step after years of steady growth. With the commissioning of the current business premises at the Enschot Business Park on the outskirts of Tilburg in 2011, there is once again sufficient room for further growth.

Rob is looking for innovative materials for an industry characterized by high-quality craftsmanship. This results in a growing range of products that make orthopedic shoes and other products (even) lighter, more comfortable and more durable. This allows the shoe industry to respond even better to the personal situation and wishes of the ultimate wearer.

Nowadays Frecoma has grown into a supplier of high-quality materials and semi-finished products for the shoe industry, orthopedic shoe technology, podology and other leather processing industries. The strong focus on (further) development and marketing of unique materials guarantees a range that matches the latest market developments and trends.
